Biography

St. Louis native Victoria Peacock specializes in all things choral, particularly new and early chamber music. An avid vocalist from a young age, Victoria has sung with the Boston Cecilia and the Wooster Chorus and is honored to be singing with Quire Cleveland, the choirs of Trinity Cathedral, Cleveland Chamber Choir, and the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. Victoria is also an Adjunct Instructor at The College of Wooster, where she is the Director of the Wooster Singers and the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus Coordinator.

In 2016, Victoria was awarded a prestigious grant by Wooster to attend the Choral Institute at Oxford to study with Westminster Choir College’s Dr. James Jordan, and Oxford University’s James Whitbourn. She has studied conducting with Drs. Lisa Wong, George Case, and Nathan Reiff.

Victoria has also composed works for string quartet, solo voice, piano, and marimba, as well as incidental music. Her music has been praised for being “particularly memorable, with a haunting, enviable lyricism of distinctive character.” Victoria’s piece, “A Golden Day,” winner of the Wooster Chorus’s 2015 Composition Competition, was premiered by them on their 2015 Spring Tour.

Victoria holds a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and a Bachelor of Music degree in theory and composition from The College of Wooster. In addition, Victoria is a notable mezzo-soprano and pianist, having won regional awards for both. She is a voice student of Johanna Nordhorn.
